Association of Women from burundi
MISSION
Led and motivated by Canadian women from Burundi, Haguruka – a French-speaking association – has the mission of supporting the economic, social, and cultural development of women: by facilitating their integration, by fighting against discrimination in all its forms in Canada and internationally, by contributing to their financial independence.
VISION
Haguruka brings together and energizes women, their families and their communities to stimulate their development in Canada and internationally.
HOW WE OPERATE
To supplement the annual membership fees, we conduct periodic fundraising activities in Canada to provide economic relief and development to women living in poverty in Burundi through the provision of: - micro-financing and/or credit loans - public education and information sharing We operate in partnership with other grassroots community organization already delivering services to women in Burundi and in Toronto.
